Karuna’s Story
The Karuna Movement was created from a simple realization: too many women are navigating their health alone. They are told their symptoms are normal (or assume that much is true). That fatigue, weight gain, mood swings, painful periods, poor sleep, and digestive issues are simply part of being a woman. They’re given quick appointments, surface-level answers, and often leave feeling more confused than when they arrived.
But our bodies are not random. They’re intelligent, responsive systems that give us information every day. The problem is that most of us were never taught how to read those signals.
The Karuna Movement exists to change that. At its core, this work is about body literacy - helping women understand how their hormones, nervous system, metabolism, digestion, and lifestyle habits interact so they can make informed decisions about their health. Instead of being prescribed quick fixes - typically without informed consent of the long-term health impacts, we focus on building a deeper understanding of the body and creating sustainable habits that support long-term wellbeing.
The word Karuna comes from Sanskrit and means compassion. Compassion for your body. Compassion for the seasons of life you move through. And compassion for the reality that health is rarely about perfection. It’s about learning, adjusting, and supporting your body with the right tools at the right time.
Women have the most to gain from truly understanding their bodies, and when they do, everything changes. You move from guessing to knowing. From frustration to clarity. From pushing through symptoms to working with your body.
It’s about becoming informed, supported, and confident in how you care for yourself.
Because when women understand their bodies, they become powerful advocates for their own health.
